REGULATIONS FOR WORKING GROUPS & EXPERTS MEMBERSHIP

 

DIRECTIVE CONCERNING WORKING GROUPS

AND MEMBERSHIP OF EXPERTS

OF

THE CLEAN ENERGY FOUNDATION

 1.    The Administrative Board of the Clean Energy Foundation has found it approppriate to establish Working Groups in order to support and activate studies in line with the aims of the Foundation and to ensure coordination between those who work on related topics.

 2.    Within the framework of the above-mentioned decision, the Administrative Board is authorized to establish working groups under headings such as “theoretical and design-oriented studies on renewable energies”, “technological and applied studies on renewable energies”, “studies to prevent pollution in energy production and consumption with conventional methods”, “studies on energy efficiency and conservation”, “studies on training in the area of renewable energies”, etc.

 3.    These working groups can be extended and their number can be increased or decreased by the Administrative Board of the Foundation.

 4.    The first executive of a working group is designated by the Administrative Board of the Foundation. When the number of the expert members of a working group exceeds five, the group elects its own executive and informs the Administrative Board of this decision.

 5.    Individuals and institutions wishing to join a working group should apply to the Administrative Board of the Clean Energy Foundation with their curriculum vitae and publication lists (in the case of institutions, a document showing the working area(s) of the institution), specifying the working group they would like to join. The Administrative Board of the Clean Energy Foundation asks for the opinion of the executive of the relevant working group and designates the individuals/institutions in question as “expert members”.

 6.    An “expert member” designated to the working group is responsible for paying to the Foundation his/her share of yearly expenses, the amount of which is determined by the Administrative Board of the Clean Energy Foundation. The duty of an expert member terminates if he/she does not pay his/her share of the yearly expenses during the first three months of the year. The share of yearly expenses for master degree students is at a reduced rate.

 7.    The executive of the working group is responsible for the work carried out by the group members. The executive of the group informs the Administrative Board of the Foundation of the work and proposals of his/her group during the first month of each year in written form.

 

8.    The members of the working groups have priority to work in the projects supported by the Clean Energy Foundation. Payment can be made to group members within the framework of the related project.

 9.    Expert members involved in working groups of the Clean Energy Foundation have the following privileges and opportunities granted by the Foundation:

i)                  Support for the publication of the works of the group members.

ii)                Support for participation in national and international meetings (depending on  budgetary conditions)

iii)             Access to the Internet through the Foundation’s Internet link.

iv)              Support for publication surveys related to the working areas of the group.

v)                Services such as postage, telephone, fax etc., provided that they are related to the work carried out by the working group.

vi)              Announcement of national and international meetings and publications related to the working areas of the group to group members (on the basis of the information available at the Foundation).

vii)           Secretarial services for  working groups.

viii)         Priority in being designated for the job of arbitration as regards the publications to be supported by the Foundation.

ix)              Assistance for the communication between working group members and for the organization of group meetings.

x)                Participation free of charge in the meetings organized by the Clean Energy Foundation.

xi)              Being able to buy the publications of the Clean Energy Foundation at a reduced price.

10.  A member of specific working group can participate in the meetings of the Higher Board of   the Foundation but has no right to vote.

 11.  An expert member who has worked continuously for five years in a working group earns the right to be elected as a member of the Higher Board of the Foundation.

 12.  This directive is valid as of the beginning of December 1995. The Administrative Board of the Foundation can make amendments in this directive whenever the necessity arises.
